Looking for the best hoof boots? Want to understand what the different product options are? In this blog post, we give you a concise introduction to the Flex Boots products, so that you can choose the right boots for your horse or pony.

What hoof boot options do I have with Flex Boots?

Classic Flex Boots

These are our original hoof boots. They are slightly longer than wide in shape, and designed in a way that supports correct biomechanics and protects the hoof without any restriction.

The classic boots are divided into two styles by size: sizes 80-105 are called FlexPony Boot collection, and sizes 110-150 are called FlexHorse Boot collection. You can see the product name and size embedded clearly on the sides of all boot shells.

The boot consists of a boot shell with a TPU gaiter which is the back part of the boot with a pastern strap, and already attached to the shell, a neoprene gaiter and a back strap. There are several colour options for the neoprene gaiters and back straps, and all parts can be changed and replaced if necessary.

The boots are fastened with straps and ball rivets. The pastern strap fastens around the leg, and the back strap fastens on both sides of the boot shell, securing the back of the boot in place. Both straps allow for plenty of adjustment, so you can get a very close fit with Flex Boots.

Wide Flex Boots

Wide boots are the same design as the classic boot, the only difference is that the wide boots are round in shape and the shell is slightly more upright to accommodate the fact that round hooves are often a slightly steeper angle at the toe.

The wide boot shell varies in shape from the standard one, but the same TPU gaiters, neoprene gaiters and back straps are used in both the standard and wide boots. These are also changeable if necessary.

Just like the classic boots (former standard), wide boots are also divided into two styles by size: sizes 80W-105W are called FlexPony Wide Boot collection, and sizes 110W-145W are called FlexHorse Wide Boot collection.

Custom Flex Boots

Customisation is another thing that sets us apart from other hoof boot brands. On Flex Custom Boots, the TPU gaiter, which is the back part of the boot, is changed to a smaller or larger one, depending on the horse’s conformation and current hoof health.

For example, on hooves with underrun heels, custom boots with a size smaller TPU gaiter can offer a better fit, therefore staying on better and being much more comfortable for the horse to wear.

Limited edition boots

We have two limited edition colours available: pink and turquoise. These are standard boots, but in fun colours that brighten up any equestrian activity. But the colours are practical too: in case a boot comes off on a trail ride, it’s very easy to find.

And, did you know that these boots are on a huge 30% discount in our shop! So you can get the best quality hoof boots at a much cheaper price. Keep in mind that since these are limited edition boots, when they are sold out, there will be no new stock in either colour. So grab a set now!

Spare boot parts

All the parts of Flex Boots can be changed and replaced if necessary. This saves you a lot of money, because if one part breaks, you don’t need to buy a whole new boot; you can simply buy a replacement part. We love this option, because it’s also environmentally friendly. You have the option of buying a replacement boot shell and a TPU gaiter separately.

And for those who love a bit of variety, having the neoprene gaiters and back straps in several different colours will enable you to swap them over when you feel like it. But again, this has a practical aspect too: if your horse wears different size boots in fronts and hinds, using different colour gaiters and/or back straps makes it really quick for you to identify which boot is for which foot.
