Description
The Ahti Basic Boot is the structural foundation of the FlexMini Ahti system.
It includes the core components of the boot:
- Base shell
- Rear Unit
- Strap Anchor
- Rivets
Together, these form the load-bearing structure and fastening framework of the Ahti design.
The Basic Boot is ready to be completed with the Pastern Strap, Back Strap, and Neoprene Gaiter.
What it does
The Basic Boot provides the core structure of the boot, including:
- The sole and tread pattern
- The biomechanical breakover
- Rear support and alignment
- Front attachment point for the fastening system
It is designed to support natural movement while keeping the boot stable during use.

Sizing
Available in four sizes:
60 – width 60 / length 65
65 – width 65 / length 70
70 – width 70 / length 75
75 – width 75 / length 80
If the hoof is right at the upper limit of the boot size range, choose the next larger size and use a pad.
Each Basic Boot includes the correct Rear Unit configuration:
60 = 60–65 shell + 60 Rear Unit
65 = 60–65 shell + 65 Rear Unit
70 = 70–75 shell + 70 Rear Unit
75 = 70–75 shell + 75 Rear Unit
This ensures correct fit and function without needing to combine separate parts.
What is not included
This product does not include:
- Pastern Strap
- Back Strap
- Neoprene Gaiter
These components are required to complete the boot and must be added separately.
Material
Shell, Rear Unit, and Strap Anchor are made from high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), combining:
- Flexibility
- Strength
- Weather resistance
Care
- Rinse or brush off dirt after use
- Allow to dry in a ventilated area
- Avoid harsh chemicals
- Store in a dry, ventilated place
FlexMini Ahti uses a modular sizing system. Each size is created by combining the boot shell with the correct Rear Unit to achieve the final dimensions.
Boot sizing is based on the internal width of the boot, with the length proportionally longer to match the natural shape of miniature hooves.
Our boot measurements are taken from the inside of the boot shell, so it’s easy to compare them directly to your hoof measurements. Hooves should be measured shortly after a fresh trim.
If the hoof measurements are exactly at the upper limit of the boot measurements, and the horse has large heel bulbs, it is advisable to choose the next size up or use pads for adjustment.
Measure the width from the widest part of the hoof, with the tape measure perpendicular to the centre line of the hoof.

Materials
The boot shell, TPU gaiter and back strap are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a material that is often called a hybrid between plastic and rubber. TPU offers the flexibility of rubber, but with the strength and durability of plastic. Neoprene gaiters are made soft but durable neoprene with laminated fabric on both sides. Rivets are made of steel. Pads are made of EVA foam. Extension straps are also made of TPU.
Care instructions
Flex Boots are easy to clean and maintain. The TPU material keeps its elasticity and lasts longer if the boots are in regular use. After using the boots, simply rinse off any dirt and hang the boots to dry in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Do not store the boots in a closed space such as a box or in your car. The boot shell, TPU gaiter, and back straps can be brushed clean and washed with water. Do not use cleaning products.
Neoprene gaiter can be rinsed with water or washed in a washing machine in a cold cycle. Air dry only, do not tumble dry.
Pads can be rinsed with water after use to remove any debris.
Do not use any cleaning products to clean the TPU parts.
